What Is the Impeachment Takeaway- A Wounded Bear or Dugout Donald

One of the most egregious attributes of tv news media is they just can't take the win. Already  they stir up fear that Donald Trump is now a mythic wounded bear, pacing the floor of his mansion golf course in Florida plotting another insurrection and vengeance over his party and the other.  He did not join the march like he said he would. While his abandoned, frozen out followers sit in jail facing serious charges, he plays golf in Florida.

A forever fearful media, always afraid of it's own shadow conjures up new ways to make it look even more afraid. It is the true sign of weakness, when it and the people of the United States are looking for strength. Find strength, the slow moving wheels of action, geared up and the system began working. There is no going back. The next government has taken hold of a polarized state and will borrow some good ideas from the last administration, fight the virus, heal the sick and recover from the mess. It will take more than four years but no one is sliding backwards. Not after this.BUT,

Today, and everyday, the idea that throwing out the Trump name each day like a bone to a hungry dog, with the goal to be chewed each time,is the same strategy as the late night tweets, it accomplishes the same goal. It is a strategy that strengthens and gives oxygen, turning a dying candle back into a raging firestorm.  And, cable news keeps falling for it. Incredible. It is a judo move, where the outraged, throw and tie themselves up and choke out their own air passage. The other wins without making any move at all. It floods the zone with no effort at all. It  changes minds like a product name repeated in a 30 second commercial.

The Donald has been given way more credit than he is due, and far more protection from the legal system than any president deserved and more leeway than any person in  a leadership role in American history.

Trump brought his followers to a rally, got them all worked up, told them to fight like hell, and said he would walk down to the Capitol with them. He lit the match, let them do all the dirty work and now they face the consequences.

There was no plan in his head, although others would plan get inside the building. If his mob did actually accomplish their goals, what then?

Most coup attempts have the blessing of the army at least. They did not. The armies of fifty states would rally toward the Capitol in the fallowing days. The navies of  many battle groups would set sail for the east coast from every ocean of the world to defend their oath to the United States of America. What was the end game? There was none. Likely the Capitol police, local law enforcement and the assembled National Guard would be ordered to retake the building by midnight the same day.
By the next evening the damage would be cleaned up and a new government in place.

The Donald would be in cuffs, dragged out from his dugout in the White House and the feckless impeachment would never had happened.

The militias and white nationalist would be rounded up in the next few days and the Super Bowl would be played, life back to normal.

None of this did happen so, the bullet was dodged, fear of a former leader who hid in the White House after he said he would walk down to the Capitol with is tribe carries on. Yeah, but what do his tribe think now of being abandoned and left hanging out to dry. The pattern of having other people take the blame continues, as it had during his work life and now the presidency. The brain washed mob who are not in jail or facing charges or waiting to be found, what are they thinking? They are not thinking they will vote for this guy in the next election. They will roll on him, they will testify their truth of being fooled by his charisma and groomed by his constant attention, then abandoned on the barricade. They were convinced of a just cause, they showed up to this misguided mess and it failed. It could not have succeeded, it was insanity. How do they feel now. Opinion by Ken Gigliotti
