FEATURE

Judges comments: The dog photo made us all laugh when we saw it. Moon photo took a lot planning ahead to make happen. We would have liked to see more from the border photo, it seemed like a rich situation. Nice layering and color with the tomatoes.

Judges comments: The dancing photo could have also placed in the feature category, it sparked a discussion among the jurors. First place was a bold composition, packing a lot of information into the frame.

Judges comments: The swimmer was an easy pick for first place, great photo with a strong caption. We chose the kayak photo over some others from the same event because of the light and color. Third place is a nice scene during this time of sports closures.

Judges comments:  The protest scuffle photo is full of emotion, with spot on composition. Second place almost got knocked down because of a typo in the caption, but was a great moment. Overall a small category but solid winners.

Judges comments: First place quickly rose to the top, it’s strong visually and feels like a real moment during a tough time for the subject. Second place is beautifully lit and the caption helps tell the story. Overall this was one of the strongest portrait categories that we have judged recently.
