(Long Term) Documentary Photography Project Workshop
SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 28, 12 TO 4PM
Gallery 44, Toronto

In coordination with Gallery 44 in Toronto I am giving a workshop in long term documentary photography projects.

"...Palu will break down his fieldwork methods, funding models, editing and publishing process. From his first trip in the field to publication, Louie will detail every step of the journey of completing a successful documentary project. In a career spanning over 20-years, Palu has been the recipient of 10 grants and fellowships to fund his projects..."

Instructor

Louie Palu is an award winning documentary photographer whose work has appeared in numerous publications, festivals and exhibitions internationally. He has been awarded a National Magazine Award, Canadian Photojournalist of the Year, Hasselblad Master Award, NPPA Best of Photojournalism, POYi and many others. His work has been exhibited numerous times for Visa Pour L’Image, the annual photojournalism festival in Perpignan, France.
 
Louie's work has been featured in The New York Times, The Globe and Mail, Toronto Star, Walrus, TIME, Newsweek, The Atlantic, BBC, Sunday Times Magazine and many others. His work is in the permanent collections of the National Gallery of Canada, The Museum of Fine Arts Houston, George Eastman House, Harry Ransom Center to name only a few. Louie is best known for his long-term studies of social and political issues, which includes extensive studies of the conflict in Kandahar, Afghanistan, Guantanamo Bay and the drug war in Mexico. Louie’s editorial work is represented by ZUMA Press.

Wanna know how during my career I successfully applied for grants and won totalling close to $150,000.00 to fund my projects? I'll explain in this workshop.
