Military History Quarterly magazine always makes extensive use of pictures from old paintings to modern photos.
The current issue with Abraham Lincoln on the cover is interesting:
1. The back cover uses a Chris Wattie Reuters image from Vimy Ridge
2. There is a tribute to photojournalists killed in the Vietnam War.
There's also Canadian content the story of a military engineer who was with Wolfe in Quebec and sketched the battle of the Plains of Abraham (unfortunately the sketches are not in the article.
