I am very pleased to announce our
second
speaker at this years NPAC conference in Vancouver on May 8 & 9.
John Moore, Getty Images
John Moore is a senior staff photographer and special correspondent for Getty Images. He joined the company in 2005 and has been based in New York City for the last three years, following postings in Denver, Colorado and Islamabad, Pakistan. John began his career with the Associated Press following graduation from the University of Texas at Austin in 1991. He was first based in Nicaragua, then India, South Africa, Mexico and Egypt. Moore has photographed in more than 70 countries.
He has won top awards from the world’s major organizations. Among them: He was a member of the 2005 AP team awarded the Pulitzer Prize for Breaking News Photography for Iraq War coverage. As a Getty Images staffer, his exclusive photography of Benazir Bhutto’s assassination in Pakistan earned him the 2008 Robert Capa Gold Medal for courage in photojournalism given by the Overseas Press Club as well as top awards from World Press Photo. World Press also gave him top honors in 2010 for his work on the U.S. recession and the home foreclosure crisis. Additionally, John was a 2012 Pulitzer Prize finalist along with Peter Macdiarmid and our late Chris Hondros for Getty’s coverage of the Arab Spring uprisings.
In August Moore traveled to Liberia to photograph the Ebola epidemic and his coverage of the health and humanitarian disaster has been credited with spurring international response, which had been slow during the early months of the epidemic. He returned to Liberia in October to continue his coverage, highlighting one of the world’s most urgent health emergencies of 2014.

Well done Ben.
I tried getting John Moore for previous conferences but his schedule just didn't allow it.
I'm sure this wasn't the first time you approached him either....
No one should miss this.
