A collectable story
« on: October 08, 2013, 03:41 PM »
Found this posted on facebook, which might interest us as photographers. A man found a photo in a cheap wooden frame when moving his parents to a new house. It wasn't considered very important or valuable, and was about to be tossed in the Garbage. A name on the back of the photo, Andre Kertesz rang a bell and after researching the photo, it was valued at about $45,000.

I have found a few photos in bad frames in some of the antique and collectable shops I have haunted over the years. Cleaned up and reframed, they look nice in our house. They may not be valuable, but they are nice to own. Even my own photos, news shots and features grace our walls. Perhaps someday, they may be valued as unique Canadian photos.

Here's the story link.
