Hey photo friends in the Toronto & Edmonton areas: would you be interested in presenting at Pecha Kucha?
YYZ: Wednesday October 17th - Gladstone Hotel
YEG: Tuesday, February 12th - Location TBD
It's a one-night-only events will be open to the public and will use the Pecha Kucha format for speaker presentations. In accordance with international Pecha Kucha rules, in one evening, 10 speakers have 20 rolling slides and 20 seconds per slide to share their photo-related stories. This quick-fire presentation method allows for a fun, evening of impactful story telling. This style of event also allows for larger audience numbers and programming aims to attract diverse interests and levels within the genre. Invited speakers will be past and future contributors to the publication, with a focus on youth and emerging contemporary photographic artists.
Presentations will be video recorded and posted on the
www.photoed.ca website following the live event. Live audience numbers, (based on attendance at our similar 2016 event) are estimated at 130 guests at each event. Our 2016 event videos can be found online:
