NPAC members have been invited to submit to the Professional Photographers of Canada (PPOC) submission to the World Photographic Cup (WPC).

It's a paid entry contest, and winners will be included in the Canadian WPC submission. I don't see anything objectionable in the fine print but please judge for yourself.

If you'd like to enter, the early deadline has been extended to Wednesday July 22nd at 5 pm EDT.  The final entry deadline is July 29th at 5 pm EDT.

The rules are at: https://www.dropbox.com/s/zufbc6vu3a36yqf/2015_Rules%20and%20Regulations-Ontario%20Salon.pdf?dl=0

The submission form is at: https://ppoc.formstack.com/forms/image_submission

More information on the WPC is at: http://www.worldphotographiccup.org/

From the PPOC Executive Director Tanya Thompson:

"For the past two years the Professional Photographers of Canada has submitted Canada’s entry for the World Photographic Cup.

It is the desire of the PPOC Board of Directors to have a truly Canadian entry with representation from other professional photographic associations in our country. As such, CAPIC participated in the 2014 Canadian entry, and PPOC would like to invite NPAC to join us in submitting the images that will represent Canada in 2015.

The World Photographic Cup has six categories: Portrait, Wedding, Commercial (including advertising, architecture, industrial, fashion), Illustrative/Digital Art, Reportage/Photojournalistic, and Landscape. Each country is allowed one national submission that includes three images in each of these categories.

In order for PPOC members to be considered for inclusion in the World Photographic Cup entry, they must submit their images for our annual PPOC National Image Salon. These images have been judged by a panel of qualified PPOC jurors, and those awarded the highest scores will then be reviewed for their inclusion in the 2015 Canadian World Photographic Cup submission.

Because our annual Image Salon for 2015 was already judged in March of this year, we are inviting CAPIC and NPAC members to submit images to the PPOC Ontario Annual Image Salon, to be judged this August. The images judged in the PPOC Ontario salon will be held to the same standards as those that were judged Nationally in March, with a panel of qualified PPOC jurors.

This will ensure that all images being considered for inclusion in the 2015 World Photographic Cup entry have been held to the same standard.

The final 2015 WPC entries will be selected in September of this year, and the overall submission will be due in October. PPOC will continue as the submitting association, and will oversee the registration process as well as the documentation required for the submission. NPAC and CAPIC will be included in all correspondence and press releases with an emphasis on the Canadian Team Entry and professional photography.

About the World Photographic Cup

The World Photographic Cup is the first ever photography competition launched globally, with national photographic teams from America and Europe and from Asia to Australia. Its successful first round of submissions confirmed the WPC as a vehicle to universally share photographic style, encourage image excellence and create friendships across all diverse cultural environments.

The World Photographic Cup is a not-for-profit organization founded as a cooperative effort by The Federation of European Photographers (FEP) and Professional Photographers of America (PPA). Its singular goal is to unite photographers in a spirit of friendship and cooperation.

The WPC organizing body is made up of photographers from across Europe, the United States, and Canada. The body is composed of 6 members including 3 selected by each of the founding member associations: the Federation of European Photographers and the Professional Photographers of America, plus Giusseppe Scozzi in the position of Chief Executive Officer.

PPOC submitted the Canadian Entry of 18 images and had six of these images reach the top 10 with two medalists; one bronze and one gold. The NEC chose images to submit from the 2013 PPOC Image Competition, merit and excellence scoring images.

Canada came in fourth place for the overall Cup. Teams are awarded points for each medal they receive. The team (country) with the most points at the end of the competition receives the World Photographic Cup."
