Hi everyone, I just wanted to share some proposed projects in relation to freelancers in Canada. As many of you are already aware, our industry is changing rapidly and so is our association. We have a large number of very talented freelancers and I think that we can do more to support them.
So I'm asking for input and volunteers for the following proposed projects:
1 - A national survey to start tracking the condition of freelancing in Canada.
2 - A Freelancer-For-Hire Page on NPAC
A place where editorial clients can look for a freelancer in Canada.
3 - A Freelancing Best Practices Guide
This includes sample contracts, Rights for Freelancers, insurance, how to work with clients, etc.
4 - A national photo project to spotlight the great talent we have in Canada. And to raise the status and awareness of freelancers.
One idea is to have one general theme - Canadiana. Then we partner veteran freelancers with newer freelancers and they both work on a diptych with their own chosen theme within the greater Canadiana theme.
