Behind the Drug War - Lecture with Louie Palu

Friday September 27, 2013
6 pm
Kinsman Robinson Galleries
108 Cumberland St.
Toronto, Canada

Please join award winning documentary photographer Louie Palu for a lecture and slide show presentation of his work covering the drug war in Mexico and along the U.S.-Mexico border over the past two-years. Louie will detail his field work methods and experiences working as a photographer in one of the most dangerous conflicts in the world. Since 2006 over 60,000 people have been killed in Mexico's drug war, including up to 100 journalists murdered or missing. This event will highlight how a photojournalist works in this environment and takes you behind the scenes of covering such a conflict.

Palu's award winning work on the drug war has been featured in Foreign Policy Magazine, The Globe and Mail, Animal Politico, Mother Jones, NPR, BBC and many other outlets. The work has been supported by the New America Foundation and the Pulitzer Center for Crisis Reporting.

This lecture is in conjunction with Louie Palu's Mira Mexico exhibition currently on display at Kinsman Robinson Galleries
