Profile Setup Guide

Photographer Directory Location

You will notice a new menu category, Photographer Directory. Under it are five options:

  • Find a Photographer – the new directory
  • Your Photographer Profile – takes you to your own profile if logged in
  • Edit Your Profile – Edit your profile here
  • Your Account – Allows you to make your profile public, also change your first/last name, email address etc.*
  • Login – Self explanatory.

* This account page is separate from the built-in WordPress/Woocommerce ‘Account Details’ page under the Membership header, which contains your order history, billing addresses, etc, but changes made to your account name, email, or password will apply across the board.

Setting up your profile

1.) To set up your NPAC/APPC Photographer profile, first ensure you are logged into your account.

2.) Once you are logged in, you can find the link to your own profile page under the Photographer Directory menu heading, listed as Your Photographer Profile, and under the small gear icon find Edit Profile (also listed in the menu).

3.) Enter your profile info – this is best done on a computer as the profile editor doesn’t display the best on a phone. See below for other tips on filling out your profile.

Ensure that you have entered a first and last name in your account or it will display whatever username you signed up with; this can be done in the Account page.

4.) Enable your profile for public viewing by navigating to the Privacy tab under the Account page, and under “Hide my profile from directory” select “No”.

If you run into any issues, don’t hesitate to contact the web administrator at webadmin@npac.ca.

Tips

When filling out your profile, ensure your full name is entered on the account page as you wish it to be displayed; if you only have your username entered and no First/Last name, it will display your username.

In your profile, we recommend typing out where you’re based unabbreviated, e.g. Calgary, Alberta. This will allow the search function to pick up both your city and province.

Enter a handful of photos if you wish. Additionally, there is the option to upload a PDF file if you have tearsheets or other work in that format.

Add your location or region to the Location field: this will map out where you are visually. Entering a county or municipality e.g. Foothills County, Alberta will draw its borders on the map like so:
