The News Photographers Association of Canada (NPAC) is pleased to announce the winners of its 7th annual National Pictures of the Year (NPOY) awards competition, handed out during the National Pictures of the Year Gala event held April 27, 2013, in Calgary, Alberta.

With this year’s nominees selected from thousands of images and multimedia submissions from across the country, judges were once again overwhelmed by the outstanding body of work from which to select this year’s winners, note NPAC NPOY Organizers, Jonathan Hayward and Carmine Marinelli.
