3-year-old Ameliah walks down a hotel hallway to the room she and her family will be staying in. Monday in Belleville, Ontario. Donna Graham and her husband Alec move their belongings, along with their two young children Ameliah and Dantalion, into a hotel being provided to them by Children’s Aid. Victims of the ongoing housing crisis, the family had to move from their transitional home I’m Trenton after they failed to find a suitable and affordable place to live. The hotel room is only temporary. Donna and Alec fear for the future as they could lose their children solely due to poverty amid soaring rental prices.

A taxi carrying the Graham family leaves the site of their former transitional home. After not having found a place to live in the allotted time, due to skyrocketing rent prices, the family had no choice but to seek the Children’s Aid Society for help on securing an emergency hotel room.
