A reasonably long blog post (http://www.lindsredding.com/2012/03/11/a-overdue-lesson-in-perspective/) written by someone who used to work in the advertising industry, "A Short Lesson in Perspective" is worth reading as it may parallel photographers and reporters who work in the newspaper industry.
Do read some of his other posts about his battle with cancer, as many are both funny (e.g. the "C Word" link) and insightful.
