Satire. FAKE NEWS BULLETIN -This is real FAKE News, just out... in a satirically fake bulletin.
The minutes of a very, very, ultra  high level federal government meeting to discus purchasing an  ballistic missile system from the US to protect Canada was leaked to a very, very, very far right online news organization.

The problem initially faced dealt with the vast geography and small population of Canada and it's very small (to the third power) budget for right wing militarism.
Not withstanding the cost of one anti ballistic missile  and it's command center, the real problem was which Canadians would it protect.

Would it protect those hippies in BC, the hillbillies in Alberta and their OIL Field, The yuppies in GTA area or Quebec with it's last remaining hockey stick factory. Ottawa was the early front runner though. Someone had the brilliant idea of protecting the Inuit and the polar bears who would be best suited for a post nuclear world survival.

Protecting these sensitive demographics became a side issue when the PM said the single missile could only be bought in ten years and only after money was spent that year on aboriginal housing , new ships for the military and planes for the air force , and the building of low cost housing for this vast nation of the poor and working poor. In this future second half  of the third next election cycle ,2027 will be a very big year where all of Canada's problems will be solved. At the end of 2027 and very likely a Black Friday sale (note the irony) , Canada's next very unpopular demographic will be protected by an ABM ,maybe two if they are on sale.
Ten years is a very long time one scribe thought but didn't dare speak out loud. It seems the old journalist did not want to jinx Paul Martin's last budget , also more than ten years and a few election cycles in the future tax break for the middle class. Yeah, we are getting a tax break.

Two under reported ballistic missiles were fired on Saudi Arabia from sites in Yemen. The missiles apparently came from Iran. If Yemen can get launchers , the world is in a very different and  bad place. On last Sunday's Fareed Zakaria , a former Polish diplomate said old Russian J-35 rocket parts made their way to North Korea by way of the US/Ukraine ,eyebrows were raised and his explaination was muddled. This actually should be news. Opinion by Ken Gigliotti

 ;D

It's funny, or maybe it's sad, how many people, and reporters, are fooled by all the government promises that will happen "over the next ten years."

Trudeau promised $20 billion for public transit (over the next ten years) and $11 billion for public housing which when combined with other government funding will be $40 billion (over the next ten years), and he will add another $65 billion to public infrastructure (over the next ten years) . . .

Future promises never arrive because time always moves the goal posts and both the public and news media have short memories.

Oh Warren, I'm sure those promises will come to fruition. Repealing GST and overhauling the electoral system are just taking slightly longer than anticipated. Surely after that things will fall into place very quickly...  :o ???
