Feature

First and second stood out. Both great moments. A few of the features could have had more attention to cropping to make them less distracting.


1. Cole Burston - Freelance

On March 1st a group of Syrian newcomers, who are all temporarily staying at a hotel downtown, where bussed to Arrowhead Provincial park to experience a small taste of a Canadian Winter.

Weakest category of them all. This photo was the only one that really had something more to it then just a firefighter or a police officer’s back.

First and second were easy choices. A few could have stood out with better crops and toning. When shooting in low light sporting events, toning and dialling in the correct exposure is crucial.

Another strong category. Lots of ‘looking out the window’ shots that contained no moment. Would love to see some more creativity with a subject doing something or making a connection with the camera, rather than just sitting there staring off.
