India or bust! A Visual Journalist’s Packing List


After quiting his job at the L.A. Times newly minted freelancer photographer Brent Foster will now be heading off to India. Foster leaves for New Deli January 12 to begin his overseas adventurer as a freelance Visual Journalist and gives us some insight into what gear he’ll be taking along for the ride.

I’ve had quite a few inquiries last few days before I head off to India to start my freelance career I thought I’d share the gear I plan to take along with me. I’m trying to keep my load as light as possible, but also want to make sure I have everything I need to get the job done properly. Happy New Year!

Brent Foster is a visual journalist who will be based in New Delhi, India as of January 12, 2009. Foster was a staff visual journalist for the Los Angeles Times before deciding to give freelancing a try. As an added bouns Foster will be Blogging on the NPAC site from India between Jan 19th-23rd.
