2020 Photojournalism Conference

Update March 20: Due to the threat of Covid-19, our annual conference has been cancelled for this year.

The NPOY awards will still be awarded. Winners will be announced online in April.

NPAC’s annual Photojournalism Conference is set for April 24-25, 2020, in Montreal. The 13th annual National Pictures of the Year Award Gala will be held on the evening of April 25, 2020.

NPAC’s annual Photojournalism Conference is set for April 11–13, 2019, in Vancouver. The 12th annual National Pictures of the Year Award Gala will be held April 13, 2019. More details will also be added here as they become available.

A Look Back – Stacy Kranitz – 2016

An ongoing series of (unedited) videos from NPAC’s annual Photojournalism Conference.

In April 2016, documentary photographer Stacy Kranitz spoke about the (unintentional) harm photojournalists can do when they descend upon a region in crisis.

Kranitz was born in Kentucky, USA, and received a BFA from New York University and an MFA from the University of California, Irvine. Her work has been featured in publications such as Adbusters, Elle, Granta, Mother Jones, New York Times Magazine, Oxford American, Rolling Stone, Vice and Wired. In 2015, Time magazine named her Instagram Photographer of the Year. She is represented by Little Big Man Gallery in Los Angeles.
