Toronto- 26/06/2010 – A woman screams as the window of a bank is smashed by anti-G20 protesters at the corner of Queen and Bay. The summit took place in a highly protected area but outside store and bank windows were smashed by anti-G20 protesters. More than 400 people were arrested as violence broke out, prompting police to use tear gas in the city for the first time. With the violence escalating in the heart of Canada’s largest city, the entire area around the G20 political summit site at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre was under a security lockdown. An Afghan police officer sits stunned while comforting two boys who were blinded by land mines set by Taliban insurgents targeting Afghan and American soldiers. The boys are being evacuated in a US Army MEDEVAC helicopter from the Arghandab Valley in Kandahar Province, Afghanistan to an ISAF medical facility for treatment.
